Need advice: 7 days in Switzerland on a strict budget. Is it possible?

My partner and I found incredibly cheap flights to Zurich for next April, but now we're looking at accommodation and train prices and panicking a little bit. We really want to see Lauterbrunnen and Zermatt. Has anyone successfully done Switzerland on a budget? We're willing to stay in hostel private rooms, cook our own meals from supermarkets (Coop/Migros), and stick to free hiking trails. Any money-saving hacks would be deeply appreciated!
